  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.

  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  5. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  6. Stir in the flour and cook for an additional minute, until the flour is slightly browned.

  7. Slowly whisk in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.

  8. Whisk in the milk and continue cooking for about 5 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.

  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  10. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through.

  11. Serve the chicken and gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.
