  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

  6. Serve the homemade spaghetti sauce over cooked pasta and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
