Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 cube steaks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
-
In another shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk.
-
Dip each cube steak into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded cube steaks until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
-
In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and carefully whisk in flour until smooth. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
-
Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Serve the country fried steaks with milk gravy poured over the top.
