How To Make Lemon Glazed Easter Bread

A sweet and tangy glazed bread perfect for your Easter brunch!

Ingredients

  • For the bread:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • For the glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the egg, warm milk, and melted butter.

  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-10 minutes.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

  6. After it has risen, punch down the dough and form it into a ball.

  7. Place the dough on a greased baking sheet and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. While the bread is baking, mix together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest to make the glaze.

  9. After removing the bread from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes.

  10. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the bread and serve.
