How To Make Italian Easter Bread Recipe
A soft, sweet bread with colored eggs on top, perfect for an Easter celebration.

Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp anise extract
- 4 colored hard-boiled eggs
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and yeast.

Add melted butter, warm milk, eggs, salt, and anise extract. Mix until dough forms.

Knead dough for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place dough into greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Divide dough into 4 equal parts and shape into braids. Place onto greased baking sheet.

Push a colored hard-boiled egg into the center of each braid and let rise for 15 minutes.

Brush with beaten egg wash and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
