Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.

  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.

  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.

  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
