  • 4 large potatoes
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized strips.

  2. Rinse the potato strips with cold water to remove excess starch.

  3. Pat the potato strips dry with a clean towel.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to about 350°F (175°C).

  5. Carefully add a batch of potato strips to the hot oil and fry them until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer the fried potatoes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

  7. Sprinkle salt over the fried potatoes while they are still hot.

  8. Repeat steps 5-7 with the remaining potato strips.

  9. Serve the French fried potatoes hot and crispy.
