How To Make French Fries

- 4 large russet potatoes
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Salt, to taste
Instructions

Peel and cut the potatoes into evenly sized fries.

Soak the fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Drain the water and pat the fries dry with a paper towel.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Carefully add the fries to the hot oil and fry in batches for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Sprinkle salt over the fries while they are still hot.
