How To Make Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Rub the pork shoulder with the sauce mixture, covering it completely.

  4. Place the pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.

  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  6. Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.

  7. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the remaining sauce.

  8. Cook on low heat for an additional 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  9. Serve the pulled pork on buns or rolls, and enjoy!
