  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper

  2. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to cover all sides.

  3. Let the pork shoulder sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

  5. Place the pork shoulder on a baking sheet or roasting pan and roast for about 4 hours, or until the meat easily shreds with a fork.
