Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork shoulder or butt
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
-
Preheat your grill or smoker to 225°F.
-
In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to make a dry rub for the pork.
-
Rub the dry rub all over the pork shoulder, making sure to coat it evenly.
-
Place the pork on the grill or smoker and cook for 4-6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F and the meat is tender and pulls apart easily with a fork.
-
While the pork is cooking, combine the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is heated through.
-
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the grill or smoker and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then, use two forks to shred the pork.
-
Pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the shredded pork and mix until evenly coated.
-
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
-
Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous amount of the pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Top with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
-
Serve the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and pickles on the side.
