Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Slider buns, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder and pour in the chicken broth. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  2. While the pork is cooking, prepare the honey chipotle sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, minced chipotle peppers, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add the cornstarch mixture to the honey chipotle sauce and simmer for an additional 2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

  4. Once the pork is cooked, shred it using two forks. Pour the honey chipotle sauce over the shredded pork and mix well.

  5. Serve the pull-apart pork on slider buns with extra sauce on the side.
