How To Make Pork with Sweet & Sour Onion Sauce

If you didn’t already know, pork tenderloin is one of the leanest cuts of meat that you can possibly find. Despite the lack of fat though, it doesn’t fall behind in terms of texture. It actually turns really tender when cooked the right way! So if you’re planning to cook with it, make sure to make only the best pork tenderloin recipes. Try it grilled, boiled, smoked, or stuffed. There are plenty of options below.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, and cornstarch.

  6. Pour the sauce mixture over the onions in the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  7. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  8. Return the pork chops to the skillet. Coat them with the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

  9. Serve the pork chops with the sweet and sour onion sauce on top.
