How To Make Philly Cheesesteak Chili

Our flavorful chili soup tastes just like a classic Philly Cheesesteak! This loaded, belly-filling soup makes the perfect dinner meal.

Ingredients

  • 2lbground beef
  • 4tbspunsalted butter
  • 2yellow onions,chopped
  • 2green bell peppers,chopped
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • ½tspcoarse ground black pepper
  • 29ozpinto beans,drained and rinsed
  • 8ozmushrooms,chopped
  • ¼cuptomato paste
  • 3tbspchili powder
  • 4cupsbeef stock
  • 2tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • 8ozvelveeta,cubed

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add half the butter and the ground beef, breaking it into larger chunks.

  2. Cook until there is a good sear on the beef, and is nicely golden brown.

  3. Remove the ground beef, then add in the rest of the butter along with the onions, bell peppers, salt and pepper.

  4. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened and translucent.

  5. Add the cooked ground beef, pinto beans, mushrooms, tomato paste, chili powder, beef stock and Worcestershire sauce, then stir well.

  6. Bring the mixture up to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 25 minutes.

  7. Serve with cubes of velveeta in the bowl and on top, and enjoy!
