  • 2cupsunsweetened apple juice,or cider
  • 2large McIntosh apples
  • ¾cupraisins,seedless
  • 1cinnamon stick
  • 1tbsplight brown sugar,packed
  • 1tbspBrandy,or Rum


  1. In a soup kettle or Dutch oven, combine the apple juice, apples, raisins, and cinnamon.

  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the apples are fork-tender.

  3. Remove from heat, stir in the brown sugar and brandy, cover tightly, and chill until ready to serve.
