Ingredients

  • 1 package (30 oz) frozen shredded hash browns
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, diced onion, 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, melted butter, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

  2. Pour the mixture into a greased slow cooker and spread it out evenly.

  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4 hours or until the potatoes are tender.

  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the potatoes.

  5. Cover the slow cooker again and let the cheese melt for about 5 minutes.

  6. Serve the cheesy hash brown potatoes hot and enjoy!
