Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced peaches
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar. Stir well and let sit for 10 minutes.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter evenly.

  5. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  6. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
