  • 1 lb squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, and ground black pepper.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).

  3. Dip the squid rings into the flour mixture, making sure they are well coated.

  4. Fry the coated squid in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy.

  5. Remove the squid from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  6. Serve the salt and pepper squid hot with lime wedges on the side.
