Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs squid, cleaned and cut into rings
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked spaghetti or crusty bread (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In the slow cooker, combine tomato sauce, olives, capers, garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, and olive oil. Stir well to combine.

  2. Season the squid with salt and black pepper, then add it to the slow cooker. Stir to coat the squid with the sauce.

  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4 hours, or until the squid is tender.

  4. Serve the slow-cooker puttanesca squid over cooked spaghetti or with crusty bread. Garnish with fresh parsley.
