Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add onion and garlic. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. Add bell pepper, cabbage, carrots, and bean sprouts. Cook for 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet and add cooked noodles.

  6. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Pour over the shrimp and noodles. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.

  7. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
