How To Make Chow Mein

Ingredients
- 8 oz chow mein noodles
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 1 cup cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 8 oz protein of choice (chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions, for garnish
Instructions

Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the minced garlic and sliced onion to the pan, and sauté until fragrant and the onion is translucent.

Add the protein of your choice to the pan and cook until fully cooked through.

Add the bell pepper, carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, and mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and protein in the pan.

Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the pan and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the chow mein hot, garnished with green onions.
