Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup of sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of Sriracha sauce
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Add the shrimp and toss well to coat. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
-
In a separate bowl, mix the flour with salt.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat.
-
Remove the shrimp from the buttermilk mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Coat each shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
-
Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
-
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, and Sriracha sauce to make the bang bang sauce.
-
Serve the crispy shrimp with the bang bang sauce, garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
