  • 1 whole wheat pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Sprinkle the dried oregano and minced garlic over the sauce.

  5. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and tomato slices.

  6. Season with salt and pepper.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
