A classic Margherita pizza recipe with a crispy crust and fresh tomato sauce, topped with mozzarella and basil.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 500°F.

  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch round.

  3. Transfer the dough to a greased pizza pan.

  4. Spread the tomato sauce on top of the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch border.

  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.

  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with chopped basil leaves.

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  9. Slice the pizza and serve hot.
