How To Make Perfect Grilled Tofu Recipe

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press tofu to remove excess water by placing it between two paper towels and putting a heavy object on top. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.

  3. Slice the pressed tofu into 1/4 inch thick slices.

  4. Place the tofu slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them marinate for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  6. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

  7. Grill the tofu slices for about 5 minutes per side, or until they are crispy and have grill marks.

  8. Remove from the grill and garnish with fresh cilantro.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy.
