  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a shallow dish, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip each chicken breast into beaten eggs, then coat with bread crumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  4. Place chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and crust is golden brown.

  6. Remove chicken from oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.

  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

  8. Return chicken to the oven and broil for 3-5 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.

  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
