  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish
  • Cooked pasta, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a shallow dish, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip each chicken breast in flour, then in beaten eggs, and finally coat with bread crumb mixture.

  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken breasts until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. Transfer the chicken breasts to a baking dish and top each one with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve over cooked pasta.
