Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and add olive oil.

  3. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown, stirring occasionally for 20-25 minutes.

  4. Add ground cloves and mix well. Set aside.

  5. Roll out the pie crust and place it into a tart pan.

  6. In a bowl, whisk eggs and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.

  7. Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pie crust.

  8. Pour egg mixture on top of the onions.

  9. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and set.

  10. Let it cool before slicing and serving.
