Ingredients
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the pie crust and press into a tart pan. Set aside.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.

Stir in the sugar and thyme, and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.

Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pie crust. Sprinkle shredded Gruyere cheese on top.

In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the onions and cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and set.
