Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made tart crust
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and fennel seeds. Cook until onions are caramelized, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes.

  3. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to the tart crust.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese until combined.

  5. Pour over the onion mixture in the tart crust.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the tart is golden brown and set.

  7. Let cool before slicing and serving.
