Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 large onions
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  4. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  5. In a bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, cooked rice, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, dried parsley, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.

  6. Stuff each hollowed-out onion with the beef and rice mixture. Place the stuffed onions in a baking dish.

  7. Chop the reserved scooped out onion and sprinkle it over the stuffed onions.

  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes until the onions are tender and the filling is golden and bubbling.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
