Ingredients

  • 4 plums, diced
  • 2 preserved lemons, pulp removed and skin finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine plums, preserved lemons, onion, garlic, brown sugar, vinegar, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and the plums are soft and tender, about 60 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and let it cool completely before serving.

  4. Transfer the chutney to a sterilized jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
