How To Make Plum & Almond Chutney

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe plums, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine plums, almonds, onion, garlic, brown sugar, vinegar, ginger, cinnamon, red pepper flakes, and salt.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until plums are soft and mixture thickens, about 25-30 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

  4. Transfer the chutney to a jar and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

  5. Serve chilled with cheese, crackers, or as a topping for grilled meats.
