How To Make Easy Easter Biscuits

Delicious and festive biscuits perfect for Easter celebrations.

Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 12 minutes
Total: 32 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Assorted sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Add vanilla extract and milk to the flour mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms. If desired, divide the dough into different bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each portion.

  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out Easter-inspired shapes and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.

  5. If desired, decorate the biscuits with sprinkles before baking.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the biscuits to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
