How To Make Crispy Fried Calamari & Aïoli
Delicious and crispy fried calamari served with tangy aïoli sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make the aïoli sauce. Set aside.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

Dip calamari rings into the flour mixture, then shake off any excess.

Fry the calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serve the crispy fried calamari with the aïoli sauce on the side.
