How To Make Calamari Fritters

Crispy and flavorful snacks that feature tender calamari fried in a golden batter.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. cleaned and chopped calamari
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a medium pan or deep fryer to 375°F

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. Add milk and egg, then mix until a batter forms. Mix in calamari pieces.

  4. Drop spoonfuls of batter (with calamari pieces) into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  5. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
