How To Make Anise Tiramisu

A classic Italian dessert with a hint of anise flavor in each bite.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp pure anise extract
  • 16 ladyfingers
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese with powdered sugar and anise extract until smooth.

  3. Add the whipped cream to the mascarpone mixture and fold together until fully combined.

  4. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and rum.

  5. Briefly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them.

  6. Arrange the ladyfingers in a single layer in the bottom of four individual serving dishes.

  7. Spoon the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, spreading it out evenly.

  8. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

  9. Cover the dishes and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.

  10. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder for decoration.
