  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and almond extract, whisk until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix until just incorporated.
  5. Stir in the milk until you have a smooth and lump-free batter.
  6. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
