Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup warm water
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
-
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the olive oil and warm water.
-
Mix the ingredients together until a soft dough forms.
-
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
-
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and cover them with a damp cloth to prevent drying out.
-
Take one portion of dough and roll it out as thin as possible, almost transparent.
-
Brush the rolled dough with olive oil and fold it into thirds, like a letter.
-
Repeat steps 6 and 7 with the remaining dough portions.
-
Use a sharp knife to cut the folded dough into desired shapes, such as squares or triangles.
-
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the phyllo dough for 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
-
Transfer the cooked phyllo dough to a wire rack to cool completely before using.
