How To Make Rose Baklava

Ingredients

  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup of melted butter
  • 1 cup of finely chopped pistachios
  • 1 cup of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of rose water
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Brush a baking dish with melted butter.

  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough in the baking dish and brush with melted butter.

  4. Repeat step 3, layering 5-6 sheets of phyllo dough and melted butter.

  5. Sprinkle a layer of finely chopped pistachios over the phyllo dough.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5, building layers of phyllo dough and pistachios.

  7. Cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.

  9. While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup by combining honey, rose water, and ground cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until the mixture thickens slightly.

  10. Remove the baklava from the oven and immediately pour the syrup over it.

  11. Allow the baklava to cool and absorb the syrup before serving.
