Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together.

  3. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix until well blended.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually blend into the butter mixture.

  5. Stir in the oats, chocolate chips, and nuts.

  6. Spread the mixture evenly into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.

  7. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.

  8. Cool the bars before cutting into pieces and serving.
