Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  4. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.

  7. Allow the fudge bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
