How To Make Tzimmes Recipe for Rosh Hashanah

A sweet Jewish side dish made with carrots, dried fruit, honey and cinnamon-dusted nuts.

Ingredients

  • 6 large carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup dried apricots
  • 1 cup pitted prunes
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, combine carrots, apricots, prunes, honey, orange juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

  3. Pour mixture into a baking dish.

  4. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

  5. Remove foil, sprinkle nuts on top, and bake for another 15 minutes.

  6. Let cool and serve.
