  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.

  2. Dip each catfish fillet in buttermilk and then coat in the flour mixture.

  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

  4. Fry catfish until golden brown on each side. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
