How To Make Filipino Beef Steak
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup calamansi juice (or lemon juice)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium-sized onion, sliced into rings
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
-
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, calamansi juice, minced garlic, and ground black pepper.
-
Add the beef slices to the marinade, making sure they are well-coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
-
Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion rings until translucent.
-
Remove the onion rings from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, fry the marinated beef slices until brown on both sides. Do this in batches if needed.
-
Pour the leftover marinade into the skillet and let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly reduced.
-
Return the onion rings to the skillet and mix well with the beef.
-
Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
-
Serve hot with steamed rice.
