How To Make Vegan BBQ Teriyaki Tofu

Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions

Press tofu to remove excess water, then slice it into small rectangular pieces.

In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.

Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and lightly oil it.

Place tofu on the grill and brush with the teriyaki sauce. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with more sauce as needed.

In a small saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch and water. Heat over medium heat until the mixture thickens to a glaze consistency, stirring constantly.

Remove tofu from the grill and brush with the thickened sauce glaze.

Serve the BBQ teriyaki tofu hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
