Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 brioche buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Combine the flour and breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.

  4. Whisk egg and milk together in another dish.

  5. Dip the chicken in the egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.

  6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the chicken until golden brown.

  7. Transfer chicken to a baking sheet and top each breast with marinara sauce and a slice of mozzarella cheese.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted, about 5-7 minutes.

  9. Toast the buns and assemble sandwiches with chicken, extra marinara sauce, and additional cheese if desired.
