- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
