How To Make Next Level Spaghetti & Meatballs

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp of dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp of dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz) of diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup of red wine
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb of spaghetti
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, and milk. Mix until well combined.

  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, sugar, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 20 minutes.

  6. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the spaghetti.

  7. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for another 10 minutes.

  8. Serve the spaghetti topped with the meatballs and sauce. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
