Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup frozen peas
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
-
Stir in the cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for an additional 2 minutes to toast the spices.
-
Add the beef broth and frozen peas to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Divide the beef mixture evenly among 4 individual oven-safe dishes or ramekins.
-
Top each dish with a generous amount of mashed potatoes, spreading it out to cover the filling completely.
-
Place the dishes on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
